Marilyn Manson invited two members of ‘60s psychedelic trailblazers The Doors onstage with him over the weekend.
Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of the Jim Morrison-fronted band were honoured in West Hollywood on August 16 with a red carpet tribute to the band at The House Of Blues. Later Manzarek and Krieger performed with Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum (ex-Guns ‘N’ Roses), Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara), Linda Perry (4 Non Blondes) and Franky Perez (Scars On Broadway).
According to Contact Music, the following night when Manson performed LA’s Sunset Strip Music Festival he asked the crowd if they were on drugs. When a unanimous “no” erupted from the audience at the outdoor West Stage, the shock-rocker redeemed himself when he invited the iconic West Hollywood legends onstage.
Manzarek and Krieger performed Doors tracks People Are Strange, Love Me Two Times and Manson’s personal favourite on account of his obsession with the number fifteen, Five To One.
